Overloads Last 8 Terms: Initial Analysis

1 Comments:

  • After examining these data and looking at the practices at other institutions, I support our dropping the notion of having a ceiling on course load. It seems to more than adequately self-regulating and controlled by the deans. The few term-students (30)who had loads beyond 22 represent only about 0.25% of the total term-students for the eight terms. Furthermore, on average these students did very well. In other words, we do not have a problem.

The committee may want to consider the GPA levels (cum and previous term) that qualify students to be considered for overloads.
